Hey guys, need some help here.. As for the bike, 99 VFR800 and the FI light will go on and off. Got it serviced, they cleaned out a clogged sensor and cleaned up corroded contacts and cleared all codes.. couple hundred miles driven and the light comes back on and the bike backfires and pops and runs like crap until i restart it then its fine.. OZ VFR is right, the weakest part of most bikes is always the shocks & Japanese bikes are usually filled with something resembling the stuff that pours out when you open a can of sardines. It even smells like it. Doing the front forks is a pain in the arse & you are better of spending a few bucks doing it right. I'm an old fart & I still refer Power and Torque. Enlarged and with a longer stroke the 1998 VFR800Fi produced 110bhp and 59lb.ft, meaning it's both decently more powerful than the old 750 (which put out 100bhp) and gruntier, too - both reasons why, on paper at least, the 800 is better than the old 750.
